Visit to Hastoe Homes New Development

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Rebecca, who has just moved into her first home with her son, in Martlesham. Her home is a brilliant example of good quality, affordable housing, built to help local people either get on the housing ladder through shared ownership, or get an affordable home to rent through Hastoe Housing Association. Of the 47 new homes, 23 are shared ownership and 24 are social rent. All of the social rented homes have been allocated to people with a local connection, and who were on the council's housing waiting list.

Sadly, too much of my case work is made up of housing issues, and highlights the need for more - truly affordable housing - just like this.
