Pride in Place is about making sure local people have a real say in how £20 million is spent across Felixstowe West over the next 10 years.

What is Pride in Place?
Pride in Place is a brand new, community-led programme designed to support lasting improvements in Felixstowe West.
Over the next 10 years, £20 million will be spent in our local area. And the best news?
You get to decide how it is spent. Local residents (young and old), businesses, and community groups will all help to decide how this £20 million will be spent - and only your imagination is the limit. Below, you can see our three priority areas - young people, tackling isolation, and helping bring pride back into our streets.

Working groups are where the practical work happens!

Working groups are where the energy, ideas and practical work of Pride in Place will happen. They will focus on the three key priorities for Felixstowe West — Youth, Isolation, and Business & High Street — and will help shape how the funding is spent and how local priorities are turned into action.

We want local people, organisations, businesses and community partners to get involved, share ideas, speak to residents, and help make sure Pride in Place delivers real and lasting benefits for Felixstowe West.

You do not need to be on the Board to play a key role — the working groups will be a vital part of making this a success.
The Working Groups
1. Children and Young People
​
This working group will focus on creating more opportunities for young people in Felixstowe West, improving engagement, activities and support, and making sure young people have a strong voice in Pride in Place.

2. Isolation and Loneliness
​
This working group will look at isolation in the broadest possible sense — from single parents and young families, to elderly residents, carers, disabled people, young people, and anyone who may feel disconnected from their community. It will focus on tackling loneliness, improving community connections, and supporting wellbeing across Felixstowe West.

3. Business, high streets and pride in our community​​
​
This working group will focus on strengthening local businesses, supporting the high street, and creating pride in our streets and shared spaces. It will look at how Pride in Place can help make Felixstowe West feel more welcoming, vibrant and cared for.

Felixstowe West Pride in Place Stakeholder Launch Event - 27th June 2026

We brought the Felixstowe West Pride in Place Board together for the first time, followed by a wider community meeting for local people, organisations and businesses who want to help shape the programme and get involved in the working groups.
​
It was a brilliant morning full of energy, ideas and ambition for Felixstowe West — and just the start of the work to make sure Pride in Place delivers real and lasting benefits for our community.
