Sizewell C Announcement - June 2025

Today's Sizewell C announcement is the biggest investment in clean, carbon free energy in a generation. By 2050 our energy needs will be double what they are today, and we need nuclear to meet that demand - which is why it is an important part of our ambition for mixed energy economy. One that is carbon free and gives us independence from foreign powers and global turbulence.

Today students from Alde Valley Academy got to talk about their future and their ambitions, and how many of them or their friends see a future with jobs and opportunities locally - in energy and engineering.

My job, as your local MP has always been about making sure that we get the most out of every opportunity and investment, that we ask for more when we need it, and that we do everything to minimise the impact during construction.
