Graphic announcing flood defence funding.

Suffolk Coastal is set to benefit from £11.23 million in Government funding for three essential flood defence schemes:

  • Leiston Surface Water Flood Alleviation - £202k

  • Alde & Ore Pumping Station Phase 2 Sudbourne - £930k

  • Benacre & Kessingland Flood Risk Management Scheme - £10.1m

These schemes are a huge win for our community – and are part of much wider programme of work (and lobbying!) to make sure our coast and estuary communities are protected.

This funding is part of the Government's historic £2.65 billion commitment over two years to build and maintain vital flood and coastal defences, helping ensure our communities are more resilient to the impacts of climate change.
