I recently visited Aldeburgh Primary School Avocet Academy and had the pleasure of taking part in their morning assembly. It was fantastic to see so much curiosity and enthusiasm from the students - so many brilliant questions.

Out this morning in a very sunny Felixstowe, chatting to lots of residents about issues including SEND, roads and potholes, and a lot more besides. Lots of case work to follow up with, and lots of conversations I'll take back to parliament.

A lovely way to spend the morning on Suffolk Day - with residents in Bucklesham and Newbourne - talking about all the local, regional and national priorities that matter most to residents.

Today I voted in favour of the Terminally Ill Adults Bill (often called the Assisted Dying Bill). Today's vote wasn't easy, and I'm so very aware that the hand of history was on our shoulders as MPs today.

Recently I chaired another meeting of the Maritime and Ports All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our coastal communities and the UK’s maritime sector.

Yesterday, I voted in favour of "New Clause 1" (NC1) in the Crime and Policing Bill, which passed with a majority - NC1 will end the practice of prosecuting women who end their own pregnancies.

📘 The Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) has picked up and published my SEND report, “SEND in Crisis” - shining a much-needed spotlight on the challenges families and schools face as they navigate the SEND crisis here in Suffolk.

Today we remember Jo Cox, whose compassion and dedication to her community continue to inspire us all.

This week was Loneliness Awareness Week, a time to reflect on the unique challenges faced by people experiencing loneliness - especially in rural areas like my constituency of Suffolk Coastal.

Today marks another anniversary of the Grenfell fire disaster, a tragedy that took 72 lives and left so many more deeply affected.
