SEND Report - ITV News Anglia

I spoke to ITV Anglia about the launch of my report - “SEND in Crisis”, which sets out just how broken the SEND system is - and how it’s failing families in Suffolk Coastal.

My report shows that nearly 60% of children have been taken out of school because their needs can’t be met. And the impact that this is having on families cannot be understated. Parents are giving up work, battling with mental health, and desperately trying to fight a system that is failing some of our most vulnerable children.

Despite the County Council receiving record funding, we’re still seeing too many failures. I’m calling for urgent local action and a national rethink – and am determined to see change here in Suffolk.
