In yesterday's Planning and Infrastructure Bill debate in the Commons, I called out the last government's lack of leadership on the planning and delivery of major energy infrastructure projects. In the short term, developers must work together better - the cumulative impact of these projects is vast and we need better coordination now.

As I made clear to Ministers yesterday- this hasn't been good enough. I'm pushing to make sure that the "land use framework" be developed further to be a "land and sea use framework" to improve and coordinate plans. I was clear that we must expect better from private energy developers. They make a fortune and they can afford to deliver better for net zero and for nature.
