Over the easter break I've put forward a number of amendments to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill. Its a really important Bill that will help unlock our ambition to build the homes we need, and drive forward economic growth.

But there is more that we can do to protect nature too - which is why I've put forward amendments to incorporate wildlife into planning, and require energy developers to work together when they are planning large energy projects in the same location.

And separately an amendment that would require energy infrastructure cables to be buried to a depth of 1.8m in depth, to make sure the land can still be used for farming.

With thanks to the Suffolk Wildlife Trust for helping to draft the amendments for nature and housing.
