Nautilus Relocation Announcement

This morning, Ofgem announced that they will be reversing their decision on Nautilus - and that the landing point should be located at the Isle of Grain. This is fantastic news.

Today in the House of Commons, I spoke on this announcement - which comes after direct recommendations, meetings and submissions from me since the election, as well as the feedback Ofgem received from local communities, environmental groups, and other stakeholders.

This is a key step in balancing the UK’s energy transition with the protection of our natural environment. I’ve been clear since day one that brownfield sites should be the priority for infrastructure projects. I’m confident this decision will lead to a more sustainable, well-planned project.
