It's heart breaking for people who lose so much, and its happening everyday across our island.
In November, at the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee we held our latest enquiry on Coastal erosion and landslips. East Suffolk Council were there to give evidence.
As part of our committee work, I had previously in October I raised some of these issues with the Secretary of State, Rt Hon Emma Reynolds, and the story of Jean Flick and her family - which has been heartbreaking to hear and witness.
I've been supporting the Thorpeness community for a number of months now, but ultimately we weren't able to save Jean's home, and it looks like more homes will go the same way. Which, again, is heartbreaking.
I'll keep working with residents, and with the Council, to make sure we're doing all we can to protect homes, and support residents.
